Verification Searches for Employee Background Screening

1st Defense offers verification searches for pre-employment screening, including verification of social security numbers, residence, alias, motor vehicle records, immigration status, educational records, employment, professional licensure and military service.

Social Security Verification Only

This report will return the date of issue and state within which the Social Security Number was issued.

Social Security Number (SSN) Plus Verification

This report will return the date of issue and state within which the Social Security Number was issued as well as verifying addresses for the past 7 years of residency and any alias or maiden names associated with an SSN. It is often used as a cross-referencing tool to conduct other searches, including criminal, motor vehicle and credit record searches as well as verifying that an applicant listed all areas of residence.

Residence Verification Only (Based off SS)

This report will return verifying addresses for the past 7 years of residency.

Alias Search Only (Based off SS)

This report will return any alias or maiden names associated with the Social Security Number searched.

Motor Vehicle Record

E-Verify

Education Verification

This search will verify either attendance or a degree. Verification includes attendance dates or date of graduation, and area of study or degree. Some educational institutions require use of an online service at an additional charge.

International Education Verification

This report will return results for any International Education entered.

Employment Verification

Previous employer(s) will be contacted for dates of employment, position held, salary, reason for leaving, and eligibility for rehire. Some employers require use of an online service at an additional charge.

Professional License Verification

This is a verification of any type of professional license in medicine, law, engineering, accounting, etc.

Military Search

A verification of military records will be provided. A Special Release and a DD-214 or equivalent will be required to complete this request
